Lyocell fibers are usually found in high end and designer apparel. This widest application is in the fabric industry. it is mainly used in the manufacture of high end fabric products but in rare case it is used in homemade fabrics which include bath towels, sheets, pillow cases and drapes. The main industrial uses of lyocell fibers include its use in conveyor belts, ultra-low cigarette filters, printers’ blankets, abrasive backings, specialty papers, medical dressings among others. Lyocell fabric does not need to be ironed or steamed as it is a non-crumple type of fabric and can be used in the manufacture of denim, chino and chambray casual wear. The production costs for lyocell fibers are more as compared to cotton, silk and rayon. Due to its biodegradable nature, a number of companies are trying to switch to lyocell fabric garments. During the dyeing on lyocell fibers companies may use environment friendly or harmful methods so that the dye catches on to the fabric.
