About Micro Speaker
Conduction, radiation, natural, forced convection, and thermal storage are the five thermal processes that take place in a micro speaker. Conduction refers to the transfer of heat from a hot source to a colder sink via a physical path. In a micro speaker, heat is conducted from the voice coil. The conduction takes place in the air gap in between the magnet, voice coil, and the magnet circuitry. Radiation transfers the heat through emission at a higher temperature. The general working temperature of a micro speaker is below 212 F. At lower frequencies, the micro speaker membrane motion forces the heat and the air from the speaker to the ambience via the ventilation holes. Thus, the membrane pumps the air in and out of the micro speaker. This process is called forced convection. A reduction in temperature takes place because of forced convection. There is also the presence of natural convection, which is the airflow created when hot air rises.
